There were quick a few different voyages that we undertook today, all which deserve to be discussed, and many which should have been recorded but I forgot the Flip at home.
I went to deposit my first paycheck (which was totally messed up, missing about half of it, but should be fixed by Tuesday). So I went through the drive-thru and the boyfriend commented on how it was like we were back in the 80s. Yes, quite exciting for him as he is an ATM only user. While we were waiting for my receipt, we heard a car crash happen but did not see it until we pulled out. It was unique since normally you hear the beep and screech but no crash...this was a beep crash. No one looked injured so that was good.
Next step, driving to the newly renovated Target...on the way we passed this bar which has the Iowa Hawkeyes flag, Chicago Bears flag, and Indianapolis Colts flag. The bf pointed this out and said it was weird that they had Iowa and Ohio, when I heard that I looked thinking maybe the Buckeyes were there...no, he confused the Colts as being in Ohio not Indiana. That was the first of many awesome one liners from him today.
The Target is pretty awesome, wider aisles, more foods to pick from, pretty cool. We also found an awesome rainy day project of plaster bobble head kits that we get to paint! So excited to do this, you have no idea. The problem with the new Target, everyone is unsure of where things are, thus more wandering.
Why is it that people, while shopping, forget that there are other people around them trying to shop as well? It's as though people think walking down the middle of the aisle, leaving your cart wherever, randomly stopping, cutting people off, or the favorite of the day is as follows.
The checkout counters are setup two at in row. We were waiting in line and the woman starts to open up right next to us (meaning we were right at her conveyor belt). Instead of her taking us, or saying anything to us for that matter, we notice she's opening and as we were backing up, two guys say "Great timing" and start throwing their stuff on the counter. The bf and I look at each other and just said (loudly) well that was rude. I mean I'm all for waiting your turn in line, but when you're waiting in line and right next to the person who is opening up and at the belt, wouldn't you think you'd at least ask instead of try to push people away? Of course, we stayed in the line that we were in and that was a mistake. The cashier we had did not understand how to give gift receipts to the person in front of us, so by the time she got to us she wanted nothing to do with us. Including, not scanning our coupons nor taking off the discount for bringing our own bags.
New fact that I learned today though...you must be 18 years old to purchase compressed air. The woman who wanted nothing to do with me, carded me. I asked her for what. "Um, that" with a point towards all of the stuff we had bought. At first I thought it was the lysol, then realized it was the air. So yes...weird experience.
Joann fabric and grocery shopping were next, which were uneventful.
Now...I'm making my sauce from scratch (which I love) and instead of regular meatballs....beef sausage meatballs!
The other new adventure...dehydrating fruit :) We are in the process of dehydrating a bunch of bananas and a dozen apricots. Hopefully in 6-20 hours we will have some tasty dried fruit!
The unfortunate part about all of this, I was hoping to go to a Housewarming party at 3...it is 5:15 and I'm so not ready to go, thus, staying home and going to work on things around the house. In order for us to go out and take advantage of tomorrow's beautiful day, I cannot treat myself to a party today. I will make it up to my friend I hope by going out to dinner soon!
So I hope that the fruit comes out ok...and no, the Colts are not in Ohio :)
